Guddy Chan


Guddy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Vocals, from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He started performing at the age of 18 both as a lead vocalist and a tenor singer in multiple choirs. He is experienced in singing a wide range of genres including, pop, metal, rock, jazz, musical theatre and classical opera. He has participated in such established choirs as Die Konzertisten, The Learners’ Chorus and Melody Makers. In 2012, he was selected to be a solo apprentice at SingFest where he was invited to sing excerpts of classical pieces in the conducting masterclasses. Guddy is also a founding member of 6-man A Cappella vocal band, Set Tone Men. With Set Tone Men, Guddy has performed in various professional events and occasions both at home and abroad. In 2013, Set Tone Men were invited to perform as special guests for Vocal Asia in Japan. In 2014, the group participated in the A Capella Competition held by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) where they won the Gold Award.

Aside from singing, Guddy is an active song arranger and composer. His A Cappella arrangement Multiple Identities, was selected as a showcase feature for the Bauhinia Concert presented by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013. He is also a passionate vocal teacher, with a firm belief in the importance of continuing education and practice. He has worked as a music teacher and vocal instructor at various colleges in Hong Kong, including Methodist College and Poly Technic University. For the past few years, he has been working closely with Singing Success coach, Chanelle Fagan, under whom he has undergone extensive training in vocal pedagogy. He is currently enrolled in the world-renowned vocal training organisation, the Brett Manning Associate Programme (based in Nashville, Tennessee), and will soon become a certified coach in Singing Success.
